5% of proceeds from all sales of products featuring this design go to Cambridge University's Comparative Cognition Lab, led by Professor Nicola Clayton. The lab studies the development and evolution of cognition, and especially the cognitive performance, behaviour and problem-solving abilities of corvids (including crows.)

The three-legged crow is a creature found in Asian mythology. In Japan, it is called Yatagarasu, and it is a divine emissary of the sun goddess, Amaterasu.
