The lab studies the development and evolution of cognition, and especially the cognitive performance, behaviour and problem-solving abilities of corvids (including crows.)

The three-legged crow is a creature found in Asian mythology. In Japan, it is called Yatagarasu, and it is a divine emissary of the sun goddess, Amaterasu.
